About: Just SHUFFLIN’ Along

Welcome to the SHUFFL Blog! I hope to advance the cause of the ethical, but opinionated godless folk living around Lethbridge, the buckle of Alberta’s Bible Belt. I want to post comments, critiques, news and views, and perhaps stir up some folks to think about how religion is let off pretty easy considering the real scrutiny it deserves. I’m a beginner when it comes to blogging, so it will be ugly for a while, but hopefully I will manage in the long run. At present, the Society consists of me (a University of Lethbridge employee), my two cats, and a big stuffed purple buffalo named Bixby, so that’s plenty enough to take over the world soon. You are, of course, welcome to join in if you share our ideological ambitions. Of course, ultimately our goal is to defend ourselves against the encroachments on our liberties and braincells by over-zealous theists, but since God doesn’t exist and isn’t likely to any time soon, we can take care of some preliminaries. First order of business for our first meeting, of course, will be to decide on an OFFICIAL SOCIETY GROG. And, when should we have a first meeting?
